Instead of a realistic background or Celtic ornament, the entire space of the medallion is filled with concentric wave lines radiating from the center outward. Thor is at the center with Mjolnir raised. Jormungandr coils around him with individually sculpted scales. A braided knotwork border encloses the medallion on the outside. The entire composition is fully circular with no frame whatsoever.
