Thor is depicted in a standing pose in the chariot — standing rather than sitting, Mjolnir raised and a decorated circular shield in the other hand. The shield is worked with exceptional detail — a central floral medallion with petals. The two horned goats are more detailed than the previous version with more prominent horns. The side of the chariot is decorated with Norse runes. A Norse ornamental border with runes and Norse motifs decorates the upper and lower sections of the frame.
